Reducing industrial greenhouse gas 2.2.2.1.2. emissions DPEF.26 DPEF.27 DPEF.28 Groupe PSAambitionby 2050 is to reachthe carbonneutralityof its plants (zero CO 2 emissions), using renewable energies (mostly through self-energy supply) and offsetting residual emissions. On its way to carbon neutrality,Groupe PSAfollows a glidepath consistentwith CO 2 reductionsrequiredto keep globalwarmingat 2°C (certifiedby SBTi): it commits to reduce, by 2034, absolute greenhousegas emissionsfrom energy consumptionof industrial activities (“scope 1 and2”)by 20% fromthe 2018base year. AutomotiveActivities Since 1990, upgradesof facilities, substitutionof fuel oil and coal with natural gas, development of cogeneration and energy consumptioncontrol efforts have contributedto improve energy efficiencyand reducegreenhousegas emissions. Direct air emissionsfrom combustion plants Direct emissions are calculated based on the direct energy consumptionby applying emission factors acknowledgedby the greenhousegas emissionstrading system(EU ETS)in compliance with the Decreeof 31 October2012 or EuropeanDecision 2012/601 in the case of CO 2 and the circular of 15 April 2002 for all other gases. Emission factors for electricity and steam are updated annually using data provided by the suppliers. These emission factorscan vary slightlyfrom year to year, dependingon how the electricity used is generated, but this does not have a strong influence on the figuresbetweenone year and the next.
AutomotiveActivities The figuresprovidedabove representthe energiesconsumption in all the plants for car production. In addition,we can also indicate that 1,938.161 MWhNCV of gas were used to produce electricity (730,114 MWh)and steamor hot water (559,593 MWh).62% of the electricityproducedand 15%of the steamproducedhavebeensold to externalcustomers. The average result of energy consumption per car produced reaches 1.97 MWhpar car, in progressof 1.5% comparedto 2018. Replacementof forklifts using HHO by gas (Charleville), plants surfacereductionand continuousimprovement in paintshops, share of best practices and monitoringof electricityusage explain this performance. Cokeconsumptiondealsonlywithcastironproduction in SeptFons foundryand is linked withscrap reuse, in circular loops. AutomotiveTrade The Scope of reportingchangedin 2019 to concentrateon those facilitieswiththemostsignificantenvironmental impacts.Compared with 2018 if we considerthe same perimeter, the situationis quite stable. The improvementsachievedin the previousyears are now stabilized. Data fromGroupe PSAbrandsrelatedon averageto 100%of sites in 2019 for direct energyconsumption,as it was in 2018 and 2017. 97%of sitesin 2019for indirectenergyconsumption,as in 2018,and 96% in2017. Faurecia Detailed information about energy performanceof Faurecia are available intheUniversalRegistrationReport of Faurecia. The data covers 97% of Faurecia sites for direct energies consumptionand 100% forindirectenergies.
