AND REDUCTION INCARBON FOOTPRINT IN THE FACEOF CLIMATE CHANGE The Group’smanufacturing facilitiesare committedto reducetheir carbonfootprint.The overviewof GHG emissionsfrom the Group’s worldwideindustrial activities shows that 89% of total emissions comefromenergyuse in plants.The remainingemissionscomefrom mobile sources(forklifts,companycars) amountingto around 8%, specificcastingprocesses(2%) and refrigerantleakages(less than 2%).Thisanalysisconfirmsthatthemainpotentialmethodto reduce GHG emission is energy consumptionmanagement.Within the Automotivedivision,vehicleproductionusesenergyfor a widerange of industrialprocesses,suchas casting,machining,paintcuring,heat treatment, etc. Managing energy consumption 2.2.2.1.1.  DPEF.24  TheGrouphas implemented for manyyearsan energymanagement plan for all its productionplants that has helpedto reduceenergy consumptionof 4.5% in2019 compared to 2018in absolute. Thisenergymanagement planis basedonbestavailabletechniques: mappingthe energyperformanceof all industrialsitesto optimize n their energy use. Today, the Group’s commitmentto managing energy consumption has come to maturity. 8 facilities are ISO 50001standard certified and the lessons learned from the certificationprocess have been shared with the Group’s other plants to confirm and improve the robustnessof their internal energy-control procedures; reducing surface areas and optimizing means of production n within theframework of plans to makeplantsmorecompact; developing ways of collecting and reusing lost heat from n industrial processes and equipment; increasing the proportion of renewable energy in industrial n processes, when an economically viableopportunity occurs; reducing logistics-relatedCO 2 emissions with an action plan n extending until 2022. Faurecia Faurecia’s strategy about ISO 14001 certification is detailed in Faurecia’s Universal Registration Document. Share of certified facilities continue to increase in2019, at around 77% ofall facilities. Actionsto train and informemployees about protection of the environment DPEF.10  Automotivedivision Withinthe Automotivedivision,to ensurethat the targetsare met, the Group has identifiedEnvironmentas a key functionwithin the business channels developed to cover all of its core operations. According to this conclusion, necessary skills are listed and the trainingpathfor everymajorenvironmentalcontributorare defined, thuscontributing to the full completionof his or her activity.In 2019, 17,212 hoursof trainingwereprovidedto peoplein theplants.Beside technical training the Group is also providing awarenesstraining and using public events such as the World EnvironmentDay for educational exhibitions to increase employees environmental knowledge. On operationalevel, in each facilityan EnvironmentalEngineeris in charge to implementand managethe EnvironmentalManagement Systemaccordingto Groups’genericcommitments,and compliant with ISO 14001standard.They rely on representatives appointedin each workshop, and is part of a network of specialists in Environmentalmanagementcoordinatedby EnvironmentCentral Department. The EnvironmentalCentral Departmentis in charge to help the facilities in legal compliance and to coordinate Environmental ManagementSystem of all facilities to ensure complianceto ISO Standard and continuous improvement in line with the environmental targetsdetailed below. Resources implemented DPEF.16  Production plants Environmental impactsare identifiedand taken into accountsince the beginningof a new project, and the design of the equipment aims to reduce these incidences.Around 1% of the investmentin manufacturing toolsis dedicatedto reduceenvironmental impactof industrial activity. In addition, the Industrial Environment Departmentmanagesan annual investmentplan that providesfor plant complianceoperationsrelatingto regulatorychangesand the reductionof pollution and environmental risks. Provisions for environmental risk  DPEF.17  Automotivedivision In accordance with Decree No. 2012-633 of 3 May 2012, since July 2014 the Group has established financial guarantees of €4.9 millionas securityfor some installationsof its Frenchfacilities classifiedas environmentally sensitive.By 2024,the Groupwill have financialguaranteesof approximately€5.3 million,due to perimeter extensionaccordingto Frenchregulation.In Germany,a reserveof €4.2 million is in place to cover remediationoperations. Similar regulationis now implementedin Spain, but the 3 Spanishplants remainbelowthethreshold.
