Workforce and its evolution

With the exception of positions requiring high levels of expertise or technical knowledge, recruitment is handled by internal staff. 80.5% of fixed-term recruitment was to substitute absent residential staff (caretaker and building staff). Over the course of the year, 200 contracts were signed, compared to 178 in 2016. This recruitment was made from a pool of substitute candidates, identified in advance by the management teams. In 2017, Gecina recorded 36 departures of employees on indefinite-term contracts (including 14 terminations), compared to 33 in 2016 (increase of 9.1%), bringing the turnover rate to 7.6%, unchanged from 2016 but slightly below the 2015 rate of 8.2%. Talent retention remains an important issue for the Group. At December 31, 2017, 71% of new recruits were still with the Group after three years, compared to 76.5% in 2016. digital options: offering employees new ways of learning ■ and personalized training plans. 50 employees had access to a digital platform offering a lot of training sessions on office equipment and multimedia; developing training programs led by in-house staff ■ recognized for their professional expertise, using presentation formats tailored to identified short-term and operational needs. 36% of training hours and 1,430 trainees were trained by 20 in-house trainers. With 431 employees in 2017, the Gecina workforce is down 3.8% compared to 2016. The breakdown between employees on fixed-term contracts and those on indefinite-term contracts remains fairly stable (7.7% on fixed-term contracts in 2017 compared to 8.7% in 2016). These contracts mainly relate to replacements and work/study contracts.
