Climate labels for commercial assets benefit from a predominantly electrical energy mix, with low carbon emissions. The proportion of buildings below 22 kgCO 2 /m2 represents 80% of commercial space in the property portfolio, 7% more than in 2016. The improvement per the labels since 2008 is attributable to an increase in the use of low-carbon energy, such as such as electricity, and of urban heating and cooling networks with low CO 2 emissions (19 buildings connected to the CPCU network and 13 buildings connected to the Climespace network). The total amount of GHG all uses combined totaled 15,725 tCO 2 . The use of green energy supply contracts avoided the emission of 2,834 tCO 2 by the offices portfolio in 2017. In order to neutralize the impact of its office portfolio, Gecina offsets the residual GHG emissions due to the building operations (scope 1, 2 and 3 excluding transportation of the tenant’s employees and goods and services purchased). For 2017, the total carbon emissions offset amounts to 13,179 tCO 2 including GHG emissions from employee travel. With the enforcement of the internal carbon price set by Gecina (€25 per ton), the carbon compensation fund received 322,275 and the equivalent carbon credit certified will be obtained in 2018.
