DECLARATION ON EXTRA-FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE Embracing environmental issues

Waste recycledinternallyis not reportedin the total. This consists mainly of foundrysand regeneratedon site by a thermalprocess, allowingit to be re-usedin the process, and of woodwaste that is reusedas fuel in the biomassheating equipment. In 2019, the total quantity of waste output by the Automotive division isat a ratioof 107kg/car, athe same level thanin 2018. Comparedwith 2018 results, it can be noted an increaseof buried waste, at 2.16kg per car. This is mainly due to demolitionwaste linked with surface reduction in some plants, with an important contributionof Sochauxand Caen this year. Part of this waste is consideredas hazardouswhen they contain asbestos. This waste cannotbe consideredas productionwaste, andwhenwe excludeit the ratio falls at 1.67kg/car,in line with 2018 result.Kenitra’sstart of productioncontributesalso to the result, while all waste treatment solutionsare not yet in place, becauseof lowproductionin the first months. As for previous years south America and Russian plants remainthe main users of this way of treatment, due to the lack of alternative solutions.

The averageamountof wasteper car remainsstablefromone year to the other. However, the reductionof non hazardouswaste in other treatment solutions can be highlighted. It results of better sorting in plant, which allows to transfer the waste in more appropriated treatmentsolutions. The targetof landfill-freecar productionplantsin Europeis not met for Trnava due to overchargeof incinerationwith heat recovery treatmentplant. A solution is in construction, which will allow to come back to the target. For Mangualde and Madrid, common waste is collectedby city, and plant cannot manage the ways of treatment. Some other component plants facilities are also landfill-free(exceptthe tiny fractionrequiredby law to be buried): Aspern, Szentgotthard, Tychy, Hérimoncourt, Valenciennes and Saint Ouen.

Major effortsto definewaste treatmentprocesseswere conducted in the dealershipnetworksince 2016 in order to assign treatment processes to the waste produced, thus helping to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by default. These actions are fruitful andthe recovery rate of wasteis around94%.

The above-mentioneddata from brands was reported from an average93%of their sites in2019 asit wasin 2018. This tabledoesnot includemetalwaste(750 tonnes in 2019),which is totallyrecycled.
