POLICIES AND MAIN ACTIONS

OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS

E2 – POLLUTION

Objective: Complete 2 emblematic remediation operations (deconstruction of the GB1 cooling towers at Orano Tricastin and end of the cleanup of the Parc aux Ajoncs (PAA) at Orano la Hague) ● 80% for the cooling towers, 15% for the gorse park ● 9,226 million euros dedicated to the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and the redevelopment of mining sites

Financial risk related to environmental incidents, liability management of industrial and mining sites Risk related to the estimated costs of decommissioning nuclear facilities

Potential impact of an accidental spill of radioactive or hazardous substances

HSE policy, decommissioning strategy and principles for the redevelopment of mining sites ● Anticipate the decommissioning and redevelopment of sites as early as possible and provision of the associated funds ● Master the expertise associated with these transactions and share it with other players ● Avoid creating liabilities through environmental monitoring and accidental spill prevention ● Managing tailings HSE policy and Nature strategy ● The annual assessment of the local water resource footprint of our activities ( e.g. water stress via the Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas tool); ● Adopt responsible and ef fi cient consumption: network instrumentation, search for leaks and network renovation, process optimization, rainwater recovery ● De fi ne a water master plan by adopting a watershed approach HSE policy and Nature strategy ● Regularly assess Orano’s overall footprint and ecological diagnostics and inventories for high-stakes sites ● Preserve the most remarkable areas through the voluntary exclusion of mineral exploration in regions classi fi ed as a UNESCO World Heritage Area or in IUCN Category 1a, 1b, and 2 ● Support biodiversity present on operating sites by implementing reasoned management plans for green spaces and developing a landscape-based approach in collaboration with other stakeholders to anticipate competition on water uses

Liabilities management and sites end of-life [E2]

E3 – WATER AND MARINE RESOURCES

Risk in the event of insuf fi cient water resources at Orano sites or in the Upstream value chain

Water requirements for Orano’s activities and its value chain

4

Objective: Deploy 100% of the Nature strategy actions ● 81% progress of actions ● -47% in water consumption vs. 2019

Freshwater [E3]

E4 – BIODIVERSITY AND ECOSYSTEMS

Risk of additional costs or restrictions related to biodiversity and nature protection
