ORANO // Annual Activity Report 2024
SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT
Environmental information
In 2025, the group will analyze the impact of the end of the activities of its Niger subsidiaries and the expectation of the CSRD Directive to include the emissions of its joint operations in the group’s consolidated GHG emissions, in accordance with its climate commitment. The group’s changes and its projects have a direct impact on the group’s scope 3 emissions, located in the upstream value chain under “Purchases of goods and services” and “Capital goods”.
Since 2020, the group has been studying ways to decarbonize its largest items but has not set a quantitative target for reducing scope 3. The group has set itself a resource target through its Commitment roadmap for 2030, its Climate strategy and Responsible Purchasing policy. Orano plans to involve 80 suppliers with the highest emissions in reducing their emissions.

Description of decarbonization levers Each year, the group carries out a comprehensive analysis of its scope 1, 2 location-based and market-based emissions, projected until 2030. This exercise makes it possible to explain the planned increases related to the activity or new projects, the locked-in emissions and the decarbonization levers.
SUMMARY OF DECARBONIZATION LEVERS
Contribution of decarbonization projects
Decarbonization levers
Examples of actions
● Energy ef fi ciency ● Substitution of fossil fuels and electri fi cation of uses ● The reduction of residual greenhouse gas emissions from processes (N 2 O). ● Decarbonization of electricity in countries with a high emission factor (Kazakhstan, Canada), directly or through project fi nancing (REC) ● Mobilization of the main suppliers on a common approach to reducing their impact as part of their activities on behalf of the group ● Soliciting low-carbon alternatives in calls for proposals ● Eco-design of future investments
● Reduction of voltage on equipment, change of lighting or motorization, etc . ● Replacement of fuel oil boilers, electri fi cation of the company vehicle fleet, etc .
43 ktCO 2 e
SCOPE 1
● Financing of photovoltaic projects through the purchase of renewable energy certi fi cates
45 ktCO 2 e
SCOPE 2
● Annual meeting with the most emitting suppliers ● Methodological support ● The study of “low-carbon” calls for proposals for the civil engineering of a project
