5.3.3 Contingent liabilities The Group is involved in a number of claims and legal proceedings arising in the normal course of business. In the opinion of management, all such matters have been adequately provided for or are without merit, and are of such nature that, should the outcome nevertheless be unfavorable to the Group, they should not have a material adverse effect on the Group’s consolidated financial position or results of operations.

5.3.2.3 Commitments to purchase property, plant and equipment Commitments to purchase property, plant and equipment amounted to €17.4 million as of December 31, 2017.
