Groupe La Poste // CSR REPORT 2022

Structured governance 1 LA POSTE GROUPE PROFILE AND STRATEGY ■

Cooperation agreements with foreign postal operators La Poste Groupe works closely with its foreign postal partners through bilateral talks and cooperation agreements, to share ESG best practice and promote its environmental and societal commitments. For example, La Poste took part in the “Electric delivery vehicles” study conducted by USPS/OIG to share its experiences in the deployment of its electric vehicle fleet (published in 2022). La Poste also took part in the OIG/USPS study “Industry Trends - Major Investments in Postal Processing Networks”, for which the group presented its industrial plan and the ESG aspects included therein. In 2022, La Poste Groupe continued to carry out international cooperation actions through bilateral agreements with Japan Post, Vietnam Post and Poste Maroc and to promote ESG to restricted unions such as the Asian Pacific Postal Union (APPU). ESG is one of the priority themes that the group promotes through these agreements. By way of illustration, the following actions have been carried out: ■ with Poste Maroc , the ESG component is one of the major projects of the cooperation agreement signed between La Poste and Barid Al-Maghrib in 2017. The two groups are working on the following topics: circular economy, carbon neutrality and renewable energy, disability policy, contribution to the work of the international philatelic conference. In 2022, for example, the group shared feedback on its fleet of electric mopeds with Barid Al-Maghrib. ■ with Japan Post La Poste has maintained close cooperation since 2008, particularly in the field of ESG. Every year, field visits are organised alternately in France and Japan to share information and best practices. The topics covered concern: ■ sharing experiences on the CSR roadmap and green finance; ■ electric vehicles (cars, 2- or 3-wheeled vehicles and push bikes) or other types of vehicles (hydrogen, hybrid), battery production, recharging infrastructure and even eco-driving; ■ urban logistics;

■ GHG reduction; ■ diversity and gender equality mechanisms; this theme is particularly sensitive in Japan; ■ HR policy and particularly training requirements due to changes to postal activities; ■ sustainable development initiatives such as Recygo or wooden pallet recycling. Public positions supported by the group La Poste closely monitors changes in the postal legislative framework. It responded to several commission consultations on the assessment of the regulation on cross-border parcel delivery and on the assessment of the Postal Services directive. In line with the evolution of its activities, La Poste has become heavily involved in issues concerning the digitisation of the economy, notably by responding in 2022 to the consultations on artificial intelligence and civil liability, the Data Act, the VAT in the digital age, the European Health Data Area Regulation and the implementing regulation establishing a high-value data list. With regard to environmental and social issues, La Poste positioned itself in 2022 on the environmental taxonomy and the accounting of GHG emissions, but also on the Commission’s study on the environmental impact of e-commerce delivery. In 2022, for the first time, La Poste Groupe published an integrated activity report, based on the reference framework of the Value Reporting Foundation, and whose content was co-constructed with all group entities. The year 2022 was marked by very concrete achievements in favour of ageing well, recycling, green delivery, digital inclusion and the deployment of several million digital identities. As a company with a mission since 2021, La Poste Groupe (at Corporate, business unit or subsidiary level, supported by members of its Executive Committee or committed employees) also participates in the activities of numerous associations and think tanks. It contributes to the debates on societal and environmental issues and to the sharing of best CSR practices at the national and European levels, and thus generates a knock-on effect on its suppliers and partners for the benefit of society and the regions.
