Financial and accounting information Comments on the fiscal year

Consolidated revenue Consolidated revenue for the 2020-2021 fiscal year amounted to €3.61 billion, up by 47% compared to the previous year. This increase was attributable chiefly to the Environmental Services division (up 69%), and to a lesser extent the Multiservices division (up 4%).

Recurring Ebitda Recurring Ebitda for the fiscal year stood at €388.2 million, up by 114.6% compared to last year. This increase is primarily due to a sharp rise in ferrous scrap metal volumes and a clear increase in unit margins (both for ferrous scrap metals and non-ferrous metals) in the Environmental Services business. Recurring operating profit (loss) After taking into account €125 million in depreciation and amortization over the fiscal year, recurring operating profit amounted to €263.2 million, up 322% compared with the previous year. Few non-recurring items were to be recorded during the fiscal year, in particular a profit of €3.8 million following the reversal of provisions for litigation which had become superfluous at Derichebourg Multiservices and Derichebourg Propreté, and costs related to the preparation of the Ecore acquisition contract for €3.4 million in the Environmental Services business.

Operating profit (loss) Operating profit amounted to €262.7 million, up 368% compared with the same period last year. Profit (loss) before tax After taking into account financial expenses of €16.7 million, and other financial income of €0.5 million, the Group’s profit before tax amounted to €246.5 million, an increase of €205 million or 493% compared to last year. Consolidated net profit (loss) After taking into account a corporate income tax charge of €71.3 million, resulting in an effective tax rate of 28.9%, the consolidated net profit was €175.5 million, €174.0 million of which goes to the shareholders of the consolidating entity (up 716% compared to last year).
