Mr. Pérol is a graduateof theHECbusinessschoolandthe Institutd’ÉtudesPolitiques in Parisandan alumnusof theÉcoleNationaled’Administration. He beganhis careerin 1990as an InspectorGeneralin the FrenchFinanceMinistry(InspectionGénéraledes Finances).In 1994,he becameDeputy Secretary Generalof France’sinterministerial committeeon industrialrestructuring (CIRI).In 1996,he wasappointed to the FrenchTreasuryas Headof the FinancialMarketsOffice. From1999to 2001,he wasSecretaryGeneralof the Clubde Parisresponsible for InternationalDebtNegotiations.He wasDeputyHeadof Corporate Financing andDevelopment at the Treasuryin 2001and in 2002wasappointedDeputyHeadof the cabinetof FrancisMer,Ministerfor the Economy, Financeand Industry,then DeputyHeadof the cabinetof NicolasSarkozy,Ministerof State and Ministerfor the Economy,Financeand Industryin 2004. In 2005,he becamea managingpartner at Rothschild & Cie. In May 2007,hewasappointedDeputy Secretary General to thePresident of the French Republic. From March 2to July 31, 2009,FrançoisPérol was Chairmanof the ManagementBoard of Caisse Nationaledes Caissesd’Epargneand Chief Executive Officer of Banque Fédérale des Banques Populaires. On July 31,2009,he becamePresidentof theManagementBoardof GroupeBPCEandhis appointmentwasrenewedon November 21, 2012andon November 16, 2015.
