Groupe BPCE, aware that its primary scope of responsibility is internal, incorporates the consideration of social and environmental criteria in its day-to-day operations through a threefold approach: responsible and committed management of its employees; •

control of its direct environmental impacts; • supporting its suppliers in a social, environmental and societal • responsibility approach: this approach is described in detail in section 6.3.

Groupe BPCE plays a major role in the economic and social development of the nation in all its diversity and in all the regions where it operates. This situation is the result of the active mobilization of all Group employees for the benefit of our customers. They must also be able to thrive in their professional activities and in the daily relationships they have with their clients and work colleagues. Thus, in order to meet these requirements, the Group has adopted a code of conduct and ethics (http://guide-ethique.groupe bpce.fr/) to guide all professionalpracticesand the daily actionsof employees,enablingus to carry out our work in the best possible way by giving priority to our ability to communicate,interact and grow with our customers, the first principles of our cooperative group’s values. In addition, and more generally, Groupe BPCE conducts its development in accordance with fundamental human and social rights wherever it operates. Each entity monitors compliance with rules on freedom of association and working conditions in respect of its international activities. In accordance with the Group’s adherence to the Global Compact, each entity abstains from using forced or compulsory labor or child labor, according to definitions in International Labor Organization conventions, even if local laws authorize such practices.

In its procurement policy, Groupe BPCE refers to its sustainable development policy, to its adherence to the Global Compact and to such founding texts as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the international conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO). Suppliers undertake to respect these agreements in their countries of operation by signing contracts containing specific clauses to that end. One of the commitments of the Global Compact concerns respect for Human Rights. All the quantified elements or the Human Resources policy actions presented below are in full compliance with all of these provisions. They reflect a proactive policy that is resolutely respectful of an ethical framework for the benefit of each Group employee. Group headcount The total number of employees of Groupe BPCE was 100,344 registeredat December 31, 2020, 91% of whom work in France. The headcount of the Banques Populaires represents 30% of the Group’s headcount and that of the Caisses d’Epargne 34%. The total headcount is down 4.6% compared to 2019.
