The slight increase of less than 1% is due to the industrial sites which have continued to take action to promote recycling, in particular through awareness-raising and improved internal waste monitoring. Eight sites reported zero waste to landfill in 2019. In addition, ● efforts continue to determine the reasons for the landfill disposal of certain types of waste at the Group’s sites. In particular, these reasons can include regulatory obligations or the lack of waste processing channels in remote areas.
