covering basic nuclear installations and on the EDF quality assurance technical note. Each module ends with a quiz to test their knowledge. These flexible solutions enable us to significantly increase training participation rates. New e-learning modules have been launched for all employees, such as Office Suite 365 and Architecture & 3-D Building Information Modelling (BIM) . To keep pace with changing needs, we offer a diverse learning system combining personal and multimodal solutions and formal and informal options. Classroom-based learning, e-learning modules, interactive conferences and digital learning resource libraries promote the pooling of individual knowledge to create collective knowledge. Transmit knowledge and expertise via the Assystem Institute As a skills creator, the Assystem Institute’s main role is to enhance our teams’ employability, nurture talents, update and enrich the knowledge base in line with technological, technical or regulatory developments and support employees while they are on bench. The Institute federates the skills acquisition roadmaps for the various disciplines through three internal organisations, the Assystem Nuclear Institute, the Assystem Life Sciences Institute and the new Assystem Connect Institute which opened in 2018 and launched its first cybersecurity training sessions in February 2018. These specialised training institutes have three objectives: ● align the skills base with their specialist sector’s requirements and identify clients’ needs; ● identify and map available resources and skillsets (experts/trainers) to support development of the offer; ● update/realign the integration and specialisation training roadmaps based on feedback from front-line personnel and the Assystem communities of experts. This organisation enables us to circulate knowledge and expertise more quickly between generations and also between sectors. RESULTS In France, we spend the equivalent of nearly 4% of our total payroll on training, an investment that goes well beyond our legal obligation. In 2018, 2,400 employees in France received training, for a total of over 77,000 hours.

Around ten people work in the Training Department, including three specialised exclusively in health and safety training and nuclear industry safety clearances. ACTION PLANS In a changing environment, our ability to adjust our engineers’ skills and expertise to match the needs of our business is of strategic importance. Our training programmes meet this challenge by addressing three priorities: Align skillsets with changing markets and client needs Each year, our training plans are rolled down in accordance with the core strategies and marketing objectives defined by the Business Units and subsidiaries. The aim is to keep pace with the changing needs of the market, our clients, our businesses and disciplines. In 2018, our technical training programmes for engineers working on nuclear engagements focused on tritium risk and basic nuclear security, and we also stepped up training in the fundamentals of cybersecurity. Our training roadmaps are regularly updated. This is the case, for example, of the project management training cycle. A work group made up of project management consultants and training specialists identified and described new client needs in terms of planning, risk management and cost control. The content of the related training programmes will be updated to take account of these emerging needs. A three-day training course for local managers, called Incredible Team Leaders , was launched during 2018. The aim of the course is to highlight the benefits of collaborative working via webinars and co- development workshops and promote experience and expertise sharing among engineers from different Business Units or subsidiaries in order to break free from the silo mentality. Develop a learning culture In today’s knowledge economy, meeting our growth targets and keeping pace with developments in our professions depends on our ability to develop a learning community and promote a learning organisation. In 2018, we focused on e-learning by launching a platform for all employees with content that addresses this challenge. A total of 350 engineers took e-learning courses on quality and safety in the nuclear industry, including modules on the government order
