(1) Accelerated depreciation previously included in onerous contract provision has been offset with the release of the provision in the presentation of the Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows for the year ended 2021.

Property, plant and equipment decreased by €-31 million to €16,505 million (2021: €16,536 million). Property, plant and equipment include right ‑ of ‑ use assets for an amount of €1,746 million as of 31 December 2022 (2021: €1,698 million). Following the launch failure of the two satellites Pléiades Neo 5 and 6 on 21 December 2022, the corresponding fixed assets were written ‑ off for a total of €248 million and an impairment of €184 million has been recorded for the remaining Pléiades Neo assets value partly offset by the insurance receivable of €200 million, all recognised as of 31 December 2022 in other income and other expenses (see “– Note 15: Other Income and Other Expenses”). Based on management’s best estimate, there is no impact on the useful life of Property, plant and equipment, considering the Company’s journey towards sustainable aerospace, climate risks and current amortisation schemes over asset life (see “– Note 7: Climate Impacts”).
