3.6 million tonnes of cargo per year provides expansion opportunities for cargo companies. The work to extend the baggage sorting system in halls L and M is one of many improvement projects aimed at increasing the appeal and performance of the hub. The in-depth transformation of the infrastructure over the past years - the start-up of the A-C link from hall M to terminal 2E, the redesign of the connecting wells between terminals 2E and G, the opening of the lounge space Instant Paris, the 100% Schengen use of terminal 2F and the deployment of the Single Security Check - combined with well managed operations have enabled the reconfiguration of the Paris-Charles de Gaulle connection platform and a sustainable improvement in the operational and commercial efficiency of the airport and of passenger handling.
A powerful hub Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport is the global hub of Air France-KLM and the main European hub of the Skyteam Alliance. According to the ACI Europe “ Airport Industry Connectivity 2017” report which assesses the network of connections offered at airports, the connecting platform at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, the primary base of the Air France-KLM Group, is ranked as the 3 rd European hub for global connectivity (number of cities covered), behind Frankfurt and Amsterdam. It is the European hub of La Poste and FedEx, the extension underway will enable an approximate 50% increase in sorting and parcel processing capacity and will be operational in 2019.
